Robotics in the fire service: where do we stand?

Robotics in the fire service already exists. Regions are investigating how firefighting robots can be deployed in places where personnel cannot safely enter themselves. Pilots are underway with vehicles that survey spaces, take thermal images, and detect gas. The interest is there. The will is there. But the barrier remains high.

Most systems are large, expensive, require specialized operation, and do not fit on a standard fire engine. They are requested via the dispatch center, arrive too late, or are not deployed at all because the necessary expertise is lacking.

That is exactly the gap that Salamandra TWI fills.

Our machines are small enough to be driven on any fire engine. They can be deployed quickly, without a complex setup or an extra vehicle. The controls are designed so that a team can operate them independently after a short training course. And we provide that training ourselves, tailored to the working methods and procedures of the fire department.

Robotics does not have to remain laboratory technology. It is a practical tool that is already making a difference today. Salamandra TWI makes that difference accessible.
